“Take what resonates ignore the rest.”
Growing up in a violent neighborhood, my parents kept me busy by signing me up for activities and events that would raise my confidence and take me off the streets. I signed up for a vast amount of things such as ballet, flag football, travel basketball, swimming, summer camps, youth education, challenge courses, community events, and youth conferences.
“We make the world we live in and shape our own environment. ” -Orison Swett Marden
I had a beautiful positive circle of friends with amazing parents that attended the same activities with me and it made my young life balanced and fun. In fact, the violence in my neighborhood did not concern me or put fear in my heart because I was laser-focused on the joy of other things. My mother taught me to ignore the unpleasant things that were out of my control and laser focus on the things that lit me up. She informed me that my focus and positive attitude to be part of different things would broaden my horizons and help me to know what I preferred and what I did not prefer.
By the time I was 18, I had experienced so many things no one could tell me who I was or what I could become. I knew the importance of feeling good and choosing the things that mattered to me most. Every single experience was my truth and every day my truth changed and expanded proportionally to my becoming. I decided in every moment to live my truth and be an example for others to live theirs.
What does it mean when someone says live your truth?
To live your truth is to simply follow your highest excitement in every moment and just be you. When you are happy you connect to the highest eternal version of yourself and become the passion you seek. Within this connection, there is nothing you cannot do, be, or dream to become.
“The whole point is to live life and be – to use all the colors in the crayon box”- Rupaul
To reach your full potential you must respect the truth of others as you live yours. When you share compassion and integrity towards others you receive it yourself, because everyone is a reflection of you. You become your pristine whole self in all its glory. Your pristine self is the core ideal version of you that unconditionally loves, focuses on the good, and explores every moment of excitement.
Go out into the universe as your pristine self and admire the beauty around you. Laugh with your friends, spend time with your family, sing with the birds, do anything to raise your vibration in truth and become the vision in your heart. Do things because you want to do them. You are the deliberate designer of your universe, so mold the clay and train your universe to deliver to you the preferences you desire by being a vibrational match to the outcome, be happy.
How do I know that I’m living my truth?
When you are living your truth a light-hearted sensation presents itself in your chest. It is a feeling of satisfaction, ease, and understanding. You’re confident in your composure, pleasant in your voice, and humble in your actions. The universe responds to your vibration and things that were once perceived as coincidences are now interpreted as deliberate creations and messages. The right relationships will appear in your life and the people that were rascals to you don’t affect you anymore because you have changed your perception of them. The wind touches you at the perfect time and the sun lights your path to beautiful rainbows and magnificent waterfalls. As you eat your food you no longer have the urge to eat it fast, every bite is sensational and full of flavor. When things don’t go as planned, you understand that there is a place within the situation for personal expansion, you quiet your mind and find that place. Things don’t bother you anymore and you know how to find balance in your thoughts and good feeling experiences. Every vacation and every drive is a journey and you look forward to every aspect of it by planning and letting go of the expectations.
Does my truth change or remain the same?
“Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future.” John F. Kennedy
Truth can be stated in a thousand different ways, yet each one can be true. Swami Vivekananda
In a vibrational universal change is constant, so your truth changes all the time. This is a good thing because it opens up the doors to possibility and difference. Which means more room for excitement and surprises. Everyone likes a little bit of flavor in their tea and no one wants to drink the same tasting tea for the rest of their life; there are just too many good flavors out there. Enjoy who you are today and dream for the future.
What if my emotional frequency is low how can I follow my truth?
“What you resist persist” Carl Jung
Embrace your emotions for what they are and reach for a better feeling thought in every moment. Don’t resist but plan to be an owner of the way you feel so you can change it. When you change your focus you can shift your emotion. Go for a walk, pet your cat, drink a warm cup of tea, go to the movies, do something to shift your thoughts in the direction of your happiness. Make your desire to feel better your dominant intention and ignore the things that do not serve you, eventually you will stumble upon your truth.
“I can’t change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination.”- Jimmy Dean
